Custom Handmade Guitars - Interview by Bryan Layne

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

Recently Bryan Layne interviewed Jim Sullivan of Sullivan Guitars about his Guitar making business and his Acoustic Guitar Corner website where he sells guitar accessories for the discerning guitarist.  The interview should be published soon and we want to share some of it with you to help you get to know the background and some of the details about what makes a Sullivan Guitar a cut above traditionally constructed guitar.  Jim Sullivan has always approached his guitar building with the philosophy of building a superior instrument without compromise or mediocrity.  His guitars have sold so well that he has trouble keeping them available.  There is currently only one available on the Sullivan Guitars website and it won’t last long.   Check back soon to see excerpts from the Bryan Layne interview that I’m sure will be of interest to you.

The L. R. Baggs Acoustic Reference Amplifier is one of the best values for the money on the market. This amplifier has all the bells and whistles a great guitar player needs from 2 separate channel EQs, both  with  parametric mid controls, a whole array of rear panel patching capabilities, tuner output, to phantom power for your microphone, and a great sounding reverb, all with a “Balanced Mode Radiator” for a super wide full frequency coverage which eliminates the “sweet spot” and fills every corner of the room for the same rich listening experience for everyone. This amplifier, previous called the Core 1 Acoustic Reference Amplifier, has been referred to as, the “Swiss Army Knife” of amplifiers, and for good reason.

Handmade Acoustic Guitar Music Makers

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Having quality acoustic guitar instruments and quality acoustic guitar accessories available to you can be inspiring. When you pick up your axe and start to play or compose and the music sounds so good, it can inspire you to be more prolific in your music and lyric writing. Often people will collaborate on a song where one person maybe more talented in the lyric writing while the other can simply make his or her handmade acoustic guitar sing to the written words.

Serious song writers usually keep a note book with them so when they think of an idea they can jot it down and not forget those little tidbits of inspiration. Later when they sit down they pull out their little note book of inspired thoughts that then come together into bigger thoughts and songs. On Sullivan Guitars, I posted and article about the writing of “I’m in Pretty Good Shape, for the Shape I’m In”, and have the resulting song there for you to download also. I’ve also recently put sound bytes demonstrating the quality of Sullivan Guitars to help you hear the difference that comes from a Sullivan handmade guitar.

If you have a story to share, we welcome it here on our blog site to inspire others to bring the music inside them to life for everyone to enjoy. Thanks in advance for sharing your ideas and experiences.
